Matt Savage

General Counsel

Mr. Savage is the General Counsel of Carnelian Energy Capital Management, L.P., where he leads the legal function for Carnelian and its portfolio companies. Prior to joining Carnelian, Mr. Savage was an attorney in the Houston office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, an international law firm. While at Gibson Dunn, Mr. Savage represented exploration and production companies, midstream companies, private equity sponsors and other financial institutions in corporate and transactional matters, with a particular focus on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures. Mr. Savage grew up in Dallas, Texas, and received a B.A. in Government from The University of Texas at Austin and a J.D., cum laude, from The University of Houston Law Center.
